- We are a fellowship of believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ seeking to glorify God by obeying the "Great Commandment" to love Him and love people, to learn and obey His Word in the Bible, to grow spiritually in Christ, and to please Him in all we do, say, and think.
- We are a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching church attempting to preach all the counsel of God. We are sensitive to people's needs but seek to please God rather than men as His grace enables.
- Martin Luther once stated that "A Christian congregation should never gather together without the preaching of God’s Word and prayer, no matter how briefly … Therefore, when God’s Word is not preached, one had better neither sing nor read, or even come together.” At Grace Baptist Church of South Hill, Virginia, you will not find any part of our services or our gatherings more central than the preaching of God’s Word. Romans 10:14-17 says “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? … So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." We encourage our listeners to examine the Word for themselves, as modern Bereans, seeking to determine if what we preach is true. Our sermons are not littered with the opinions of men, but with sound exposition and direct, personal application.
- We are an independent church which is: Elder Led, Thoughtfully Reformed, and Redemptively Relevant.

Our heritage is steeped in the work of God historically in the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's. Among the Baptists who are in this historic and biblical tradition are men like John Bunyan (author of The Pilgrim's Progress), Benjamin Keach, Charles Spurgeon, and A.W. Pink. Even to this day we still seek and work to reform the church to its God-centered identity and fidelity to God's Word. We desire that all have a high view of God and of His Word.
